US NOVA Chemicals recently introduced SURPASS FPs016-C high-performance polyethylene to the market, which is suitable for blown film processes that require high material hardness and processability. This product uses the company's advanced SCLAIRTECH technology, combined with a single active point homogeneous catalyst with property rights for production. The catalyst system facilitates the entire process and is the reason why SURPASS products are well-known.
According to Beth Eckenrode, Deputy Director of the company's SCLAIETECH Development Department, “Our newest SURPASS resin is ideal for many processes that require high toughness, such as agricultural products and frozen packaging, as well as outer protective films for RVs and yachts. The FPs016-C is a perfect combination of toughness and seal strength, but it also has a very high melt strength."
High melt strength gives SURPASS FPs016-C excellent bubble stability for easy processing. In the same temperature sealability and tear test, its performance exceeds other similar products. In addition, it also shows excellent strength in hot tack test, which is very suitable for high-speed packaging processing line.
NOVA Chemicals now offers customers SURPASS FPs016-C resin samples, which customers can also purchase in bulk. This new resin complements the existing SURPASS series resins. In the future, NOVA Chemicals will continue to develop similar products.
